I have lately had frequent occasion to utilize Inspector QUINCEY's services. I alway found him most ready to give any assistance in his power, and, from the manner in which he executed his commissions, I see no reason to doubt that the high character which he bears both, among the English and the Chinese, for activity and intelligence is well deserved.

Inspector QUINCEY has been acting as Inspector of Markets since the 1st of June last. During that time he has performed his duties most satisfactorily, and I am sorry to lose his services owing to his having to resume his regular Police duties.
